A Typcal Phoenix Area Easter Celebration
I'm sure that there are many churches in the greater Phoenix area who are having Easter celebrations for their own congregation members and guests, but here are ten Easter celebrations, mostly community events, where you and the kids can enjoy parades, carnivals, photos with the Easter Bunny, and Easter Egg Hunts. They are listed in no particular order.
Where: Rawhide at Wild Horse Pass, Chandler
When: April 15 & 16, 2006
What: Rawhide's Easter Eggstravaganza is an annual Easter event There are
children’s Easter Egg Hunts, children’s games and contests, and photos with
Cowboy Cottontail, Rawhide’s Easter bunny. Admission to Rawhide is free.

When: April 15, 2006
What: Easter Egg-Citment Easter Egg Hunt and Photo with Easter Bunny,
lunch of hot dogs or hamburgers, train rides, carousel rides, inflatable bounce,
giant slide and petting barn with baby farm animals.
Where: Snedigar Sportsplex, Chandler
When: April 8, 2006
What: Family Easter Celebration, with Easter egg scrambles for kids up to
age 9. Information booths, displays, interactive amusements and pictures with
the Easter Bunny. Admission free, charge for photos and some activities. 9 a.m.
to noon.

When: April 16, 2006
What: Easter Egg Hunt with thousands of prize-filled eggs, raffle and the
Easter Bunny. Egg hunt for ages 1-5 at 11 a.m. and for ages 6-10 at 11:45 a.m.
Admission is free.

When: April 15, 2006
What: Kiwanis Club of Ahwatukee's Annual Easter Parade and Carnival
features marching bands and floats in the parade, which travels south on 48th
Street from Warner Road to Elliot Road. The carnival will follow at Ahwatukee
Community Center Park. Admission is free.

What: The Easter Egg Hunt and Spring Festival features carnival booths,
inflatables for children, rides, face Painting, live music, and 4 age group
appropriate Easter Egg Hunts! 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Admission is free.

What: Easter Egg Hunts begin at 1:30 p.m. for children ages 7 and younger

Where: Mesa Arizona Temple Visitors' Center of the Church of Jesus Christ of
Latter-day Saints
When: The Easter Pageant opens with a public-invited dress rehearsal on
Tuesday, April 4, with an English-language performance at 7 p.m. and a
Spanish-language performance at 8:30 p.m. English-language performances run from
April 5-6 (Wednesday & Thursday), and continue the following week on April 11-15
(Tuesday-Saturday). Spanish-language performances will take place April 7-8
(Friday & Saturday). All performances begin at 8 p.m.
What: The world's largest annual outdoor Easter Pageant. It is a musical
production depicting the life, teachings, death and resurrection of Jesus
Christ. Performed on the grounds of The Mesa Arizona Temple Visitors' Center.
Parking is free. Wheelchair seating, signing for the hearing impaired, Spanish
and English-language interpreters and public restrooms are available. More than
ten thousand chairs are set up on the lawn area with open seating (no tickets
required). Audience members may bring blankets to sit on. Food is permitted on
the grounds.

Looking for something different to do for Easter this year? The Easter Bunny and his friends save Easter from the Big Bad Wolf in Bunny Brigade at the Great Arizona Puppet Theater in Phoenix. Show runs March 29, 2006 through April 16, 2006. Tickets from $5 to $8.
